From Loch Leven to Huddersfield
“To give our customers the finest cloth and the finest service, and to be a brand that earns respect.” JOHN BROWN, Founder
BROWN AARON began with a partnership. Zhongyin Cashmere, our former partner, went to Britain and acquired Todd & Duncan — a textile house with a century behind it. We learned the trade from the inside, and from both ends of it: the cashmere spun on the shores of Loch Leven in Scotland, and the worsted made in Huddersfield.
Huddersfield is the West Yorkshire town where the worsted trade worked out how to spin, weave and finish wool properly. The name of that town is still shorthand for fine worsted, and it is still the standard we hold ourselves to.
We keep to the Huddersfield production tradition from spinning through to finishing, and do not substitute a cheaper route at any step to save cost. The fibre is restricted to natural materials — wool, linen, silk and cashmere — and no wool quality in the collection sits below Super 100s.
That is a narrow way to make cloth. It is also the only reason a claim about provenance is worth anything.
Five things we hold to
Trend-aware
We follow what the market is actually wearing.
Considered materials
Natural fibres and extra-fine wool, selected globally.
Quality control
Every process step is inspected, not sampled.
Stock reliability

Responsive service
We answer, whatever the hour.
The mill, in motion
Two minutes inside the Huddersfield production tradition — spinning, weaving and finishing, and what it takes to hold the same standard across a full order.
One for volume, one for provenance.
Cornerstone is the English wool you sell every day — ten Brown Label qualities for breadth, three Blue Label qualities for provenance. Beacon is cashmere, for the customer who has stopped comparing on price.

Cloth supplied to the Olympic Games
We supplied the cloth worn by the IOC President and his delegation at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The quality was 880810 — 100% wool, Super 110s, 235 g. A Games deliverable is judged on consistency, not on a single perfect metre: the same yarn, the same finish and the same inspection standard, on deadline.
A minimum yarn count
No wool quality in the collection sits below Super 100s — 18.75 microns. It is a floor, not an aspiration.
Partners, not suppliers
We work with W.T. Johnson & Sons for finishing and Antich & Sons for weaving — one of only six high-grade wool mills left in England.
Provenance you can feel
Every Blue Label quality carries MADE IN HUDDERSFIELD woven into the selvedge. Not printed on. Woven in.
Developed with Erdos and KVSS
Our cashmere is developed with Erdos Group and KVSS at the Hantai cashmere park in Inner Mongolia — a CNY 3.5 billion integrated facility and the largest single-site cashmere production base in the world. It handles 2,000 tonnes of dehaired cashmere and one million metres of finished cloth a year, and accounts for half of China's cashmere deep-processing capacity.
